Yagya and Rituals

All centers have trained volunteers to perform following rituals (karmkands).

All karmkands which we perform at our centers or at your place are absolutely FREE.

Please contact your area volunteer/center for scheduling karmkand or for any other  inquiry.

Sanskar Prakran -

Kundi(fire) Yagya Item List(2 hr procedure):

  1. Table around 3×2 feet for stage with clean cotton cloth to cover it
  2. Flowers for Decoration and for puja offerings
  3. Water Bowls with spoons - 2
  4. Kumkum / Sandalwood powder - for puja
  5. Kalash and (Shrifal) dry coconut with Shell (without Husk)  on top of it for prayer
  6. Incense sticks (Agarbatti) - 1 pack
  7. Ghee - 16 oz
  8. Light Lamp (Deepak) - 1 main, 5 for aarti
  9. Kheer(Semi-solid) - for offering in Yagya as well as can be for Parsad
  10. Aluminum foil - for covering yagya kund as well as flooring below it
  11. Betel nut (supari) - 1 for puja, 1 for purnahuti (Final oblation)
  12. Havan Samagri - powder for oblations (Ahutis) (Grocery stores generally have it)
  13. Bowls for Havan samagri – 4
  14. Kalawa (Colored thread to be tied around the wrist)
  15. Prasad - anything you like, fruits etc.
  16. Paper Towel
  17. Steel spoon and bowl for Ghee – 1
  18. Plate for keeping all puja items – 1
  19. Small Plate for Sarva-deva puja – 1
  20. Wood (Indian stores sells mango wood sticks named Saced Hawan Wood. Any natural low polution wood should be okay.)
  21. Rice - for puja
  22. Matchstick / Lighter - 1

Deep(Lamp) Yagya Item List(1 hr procedure):

  1. Table around 3×2 feet for stage with clean cotton cloth to cover it

  4. Kumkum / Sandalwood powder - for puja
  5. Kalash and (Shrifal) Fresh coconut on top of it for prayer
  6. Incense sticks (Agarbatti) - 1 pack
  7. Ghee - 16 oz
  8. Light Lamp (Deepak) - 1 main, 5 for aarti, 24 cotton batties for deepaks/lamps
  9. Aluminum foil - for covering the table of 24 deepaks(lamps)
  10. Kalawa (Colored thread to be tied around the wrist)
  11. Prasad - anything you like, fruits etc.
  12. Paper Towel
  13. Steel spoon and bowl for Ghee – 1

  1. Honey or a piece of juicy fruit(like Grape/orange) - For putting a drop in baby’s mouth
  2. A cloth covered decorated plate with name written with Kumkum
Additional Items for Anna Prashan(first – rice ceremony)

  1. Small bowl of Khir, spoon, Tulsi patra for feeding the baby
Additional Items for Mundan (baby’s tonsure)

  1. small bowl mixture of milk, curd and water for applying on the scalp
  2. A Pair of Scissor and if you want to do tonsure/shaving then the clipper/razor
  3. New baby cloths - to be worn after the tonsure
